The senior management team engaged with our projects team to solve a complex business problem centred around their core business offering and route to market. With an existing Magento 1.9 installation in place they knew they needed to upgrade but were challenged by the fact that a standard ecommerce sales platform did not fit their business model.
With thousands of products and product lines, the company’s USP is a consultative approach ensuring that commercial audio customers (bars, restaurants, public spaces, universities etc) purchase the correct products for the venues and spaces where the products are to be installed by 3rd parties, not controlled by the company for logistical reasons.
Working with our project team, a solution which was fit-for-purpose was designed and drew upon out extensive knowledge of Magento to migrate from the Magento 1. Platform into our corporate Content Management System (CMS). Beyond extensive content asset migration and update (including imagery, documentation and copy), a fully bespoke, custom “basket” function was implemented which enables the user to select a range of products which will generate an enquiry with the specialist team at Commercial Audio. Supporting this, a robust rules engine and pricing model was developed by our inhouse team in the UK to ensure that the call-to-action results in effective sales conversion.
